The FIT 5.0 Appliation Period will begin on October 31, 2016. The FIT 5.0 program will have a base procurement target of up to 150MW. Any contract capacity that has become availalbe from contract terminations under prior small FIT and microFIT procurements will be calculated and added to FIT 5.0 base procurement target and posted by December 31, 2016.

On April 7, 2015, the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) posted a Ministerial directive addressing changes to the microFIT and FIT programs. Click here to view or download the Directive. The FIT Program is open to projects with a rated electricity generating capacity greater than 10 kilowatts (kW) and generally up to 500 kW.

In anticipation of increased interest in the FIT 5.0 Program, the OWA has developed this web page to assist proponents, industry, municipalities, communities and others to easily access pertinent information regarding the development of small waterpower projects.
